I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
